This menu provides a residual check procedure to verify the dynamic capability of the instrument.
The probe must be checked in the same environment as the measurement is performed in. We recommend to perform a residual check after each measurement project is completed to verify that the performance is consistent.
  1. Open the ventilation on the Nor1294 Phase Calibration Coupler.
  2. Carefully insert the microphones, one at a time, into each side of the Nor1294. Ensure that both microphones are fully inserted.
  3. Close the ventilation on the Nor1294.
  4. Connect the Nor1294 mini-jack connector into the Nor150 headset output.
  5. Press START
  6. Accept check results
The spectrum will be saved in the Residual History. Some measurement standards use this spectrum as a reference to generate measurement functions.
When handling the probe, shocks or abrupt pressure changes will affect the performance of the microphones. By carefully inserting the microphones, performance should be consistent. If the result is inconsistent, allow the microphones to stabilise for about 2 minutes, then do a new phase calibration or residual check.
